2009 HIGH SCHOOL SCHOLAR -ATHLETES


DARNELL CAGE- Cardinal Ritter
High School
Darnell helped lead the Lions to the Edward Jones Dome last fall as his Cardinal Ritter team finished 13-2 and Missouri
State High School Activities Association's Class 3 runner-up. Darnell carries a 3.81 GPA in the classroom, is involved in
many activities at Cardinal Ritter and was a team captain. He earned all-AAA honors and never missed a practice. Darnell's
parents are Denis Cage and Charlotte Williams. His football coach is Brian Simmons.

BRANNON CHAMPAGNE- St. Charles West High School
Brannon was "Mr. Everything" for the Warriors of St. Charles West as he was the quarterback, safety, punter, and kicker
on a 10-2 team. He was all-GAC at each position and led West to its first 1 0-victory season in school history. He leaves
the Warrior program as the owner of all passing records. His parents are Brannon and Stacy Champagne and his football coach
is Gary Strauss.

ETHAN
DRAVES- St. Dominic High School
Ethan
was an outstanding leader for the Crusaders both on and off the field. He carries a 3.82 GPA at St. Dominic and involved in
numerous student activities. Considered a great teammate by his coach, Ethan was a first-team all-AAA offensive lineman. Ethan's
parents are Brian and Kim Draves and his football coach is Bob Leonard.

JAMES GLADSTONE - Vianney High School
James broke Jeremy Maclin's career receiving yards and receptions record in 2008 as he now owns both records. He has
189 career receptions and 2,618 career receiving yards, making him the premier receiver in the St. Louis metro area. James earned
all-State honors and is very active in student activities at Vianney High. His parents are Gene and Kim Gladstone and his
father is also his football coach.

LUKE HIBBELER - Bishop DuBourg
High School
Luke started all 40 games in his football career at DuBourg. He was a physical defensive player in the secondary as
he had 72 tackles and six interceptions and caught 50 passes for over 600 yards last fall. He was a first
team all-AAA defensive back and also an all-league performer at wide receiver for the Cavaliers. Luke's parents are Roger
and Barb Hibbeler and his football coach is Jim Welby.

JUSTIN L'HOTE - St. Vincent High School (Perryville, MO)
Justin
is a gifted three-sport performer for the Indians as he enjoyed a stellar football career as a three-year starter at three
different positions. Played running back and defensive back in 2008 and receiver in earlier years and was all-conference each
season. He was also a talented basketball player and a four year varsity baseball player. He was named to the Southeast Missourian
newspaper "Dream Team" last fall. Justin's parents are Brian and Julie L'Hote and his football coach is Keith Winkler.

MOE - Ft. Zumwalt West High School
TJ was perhaps the most decorated high school football player of the 2008 season. He was named as the St. Louis Post-Dispatch
Player of The Year and the Missouri Gatorade and Old Spice Player of The Year as well as the Missouri Class 6 Player of The
Year. Led his Jaguar team to a 9-3 record and will continue his football career at the University of Missouri next fall. TJ's parents are Dave and Becky Moe and his football coach is Paul Day.

JEREMIAH OTEH - MICDS High School
Jeremiah
will go down as the top quarterback in the storied history of the MICDS Ram football program. He owns every passing record
in school history and as a starting quarterback; he led the Rams to a 31-3 record in his varsity career. A team captain, Jeremiah
carries an impressive course load at MICDS and sports a 3.82 GPA. Jeremiah's parents are Ibe and Gwen Oteh and his football
coach is Josh Smith.

JOHN TABASH - Priory High School
John
was a big 6-2, 285 offensive tackle for the Rebels and helped lead Priory to an 84 record and a trip to the MSHSAA playoffs.
A team captain and an all-State player, John is a very active student-athlete and has done some very admirable community service
during his high school career. John's parents are Dr. John and Mary Tabash. His high school football coach is Marty Combs.

MICHAEL TALENT - Westminster Christian Academy
Michael anchored the Wildcat line and doubled as the team's middle linebacker in 2008. A National Honors
Society member, Michael is considered a very strong school leader and was the captain of his Westminster team. Also very involved
in school activities, Michael carries an impressive 4.611 GPA and is a member of Westminster's Scholar Bowl team. His parents are Jim
and Brenda Talent and his football coach is JD Perona.

CHRIS WALTER - Festus High School
Chris
was the inspirational leader of the Festus Tiger football program. His leadership skills and football talents have led the
Tigers to a 32-11 record during his four year career at Festus High. He earned all-conference in 2008 and was named to the
All-State Academic team last fall. The big, 6-0, 290 offensive lineman was an outstanding role model for the younger players
in the Festus football program. Chris' parents are Steve and Misty Walter and his football coach is Russ Schmidt.

KENNETH `BUCK' SMITH - Washington University
"Buck" was
the Washington University quarterback for the past three years and will leave the Bear program as one of the top signal-callers in Washington
U football history. Is a three-time Academic All-UAA and started the last 20 games of his career. He threw for 168 completions
and 1,827 yards in 2008. Owns a 3.88 GPA and is a Biology/Pre-Med student at Washington U. His coach is Larry Kindbom.
